This is proof why I am a teacher....

I go into a teacher store and leave with all kinds of goodies for my classroom!!!! I can't wait to have a classroom to put these in! (Praying that day will be SOON!!!!!!!!!)

Kids Say the Darnest Things!

So today I was my 3rd grade classroom and this boy said the funniest thing to me! I nearly died laughing! Our conversion went something like this....

3rd Grader: "Miss Van Zandt, you look just like my mom."

Me: "Oh, thanks." (being polite...he is so cute and was being so sweet!)

3rd Grader: "Well, except that she is Mexican!"

Me: "Well I am definately not Mexican, but thanks!"

**** I have laughed ALLLLLLLLLL day about this! It was so funny I near fell over!

One thing, I love about education is it is never boring and the kids can totally make your day by saying something so sweet! :)

First Job Fair!

Today was my very first job fair! :)

Crazy I know! I talked to several school districts and got some great information! Right now, I am not applying anywhere to teach yet but will be in the late fall so hopefully I will have a job after Christmas! I will just wait and see what the Lord has in store for this next season!

My roommate went to the job fair too! So here is both of us super early this morning all dressed up! {And yes we happened to both wear blue! ha!}

Missions Emphasis Week continued...

Whew! I am at the end of a crazy week but it has been so wonderful and encouraging! Yesterday's breakfast went very well! It was great to see students, missionaries and church staff gather together to worship! I was so busy I didn't get to take any pictures but I know some who did and maybe if I can get some of theirs I will post them! :) (We will see!)

There were so many good things about yesterday! Here is just a few of the quotes I heard throughout the day:

"The only way to disarm the enemy is through the power of the Cross!"

"God uses our weakness through His grace!"

"We should have ONE mission and ONE passion!"

"Our world desperately in need of a Savior!"

**That is just a few things that I have been thinking about today as well! **

Well on to today!

Here is a picture of the classroom that I am in! I love it so much and have really enjoyed getting to spend four plus hours a week with these kids! There is something so beautiful and innocent about being with children! They are such a gift! I am praying for this precious gifts and that they someday will come to know the Father! I am already struggling with not being able to see them after December! (We just won't talk about that right now....) For the Lord has given me the here and now and with that I will praise Him! :)

AND in other big news I was filling out my housing form for next semester and I got to write SENIOR!!!!!!!!!!!

When did I get to be a SENIOR in college?

Well....I have no idea where the last almost three years have gone!

It says "Senior!"

WOW! So thankful for this season which the Lord has brought me to UMHB! It has been probably the best of my life! Looking forward to what He is going to do with my time left here and where He is going to lead me next!

Today is National Punctuation Day!

{I just learned this today! Kinda neat...in school a great way to promote literacy and writing!}

Taught my first lesson of the semester....it went well! :)

Back "visiting" home...never the same after you move away...but great to be with my family!!!! :)

Here is my official acceptance letter in the College of Education! I received this a couple of days ago just forgot to post it until now! This is an exciting step and now I only have to qualify for Student Teaching to officially be able to GRADUATE!!!! :)

It says ACCEPTED with a purple circle around it! :)

Today in first grade some of the interns helped the students create a flag! It was huge! I loved it so much I took pictures!

No major issues! We all remained clean! Praise the Lord!!

1st graders and #19

So it's already Tuesday...wow this week is going fast already!

It has been busy...school always is! I am enjoying it though! And learning A LOT about teaching! I found out today that I have been assigned to two different 1st grade classrooms for this semester! So all of my lesson plans and activities will be geared toward six and seven year olds! :)

I am excited to meet my classes next week and see what they are like!
