Fav Verse Friday! #2

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."

Psalm 23

This n That!

Today, we are getting ready to head north {Kansas} to see my mom's family! I still have lots to do tonight before I get ready to go! It is going to be a great time of fellowship with family that we haven't seen in awhile! We have MANY to celebrate this year! For one, it is my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary!!! How exciting that is!

My sister's graduation {me, Grandma, Beth, Grandpa}

Here is my grandparents with all the grandkids {minus one}

{Grandpa, Beth, cousins-Ella, Cole, Brandon, Grandma, and me}

Here is my excited face about traveling! :)

My hair is a lot darker than it used to be! I guess that is an advantage of having a sister that is a licensed cosmotologist! :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cute sign! I saw it the other day and fell in love with it! :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Something that I have been thinking about lately is what we allow our minds to focus on and how worldly things can over take us in a heartbeat. As a child of God, we are to flee from sin and sometimes I think we get too comfortable living just a "normal life." BUT God has called us to be more than that!

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light!"

--I Peter 2:9

If we want to lead others to Christ and point them toward the Cross then, our lives have to look like Jesus. We can't expect others to see Jesus in us if we look like the world. WE HAVE TO BE DIFFERENT! Different meaning we are not the same as everyone else and the difference is we know Jesus! If we know Him, our lives should reflect that! And we have to close our eyes to the world and look unto Jesus!

Weekend Wrap Up! :)

I had a great weekend! It was filled with a wedding and a baby dedication! Friday night, we all went to a wedding of a great gentlemen in our church. I have known him all my life and two and a half years ago his wife went to be with Jesus! It is so nice to see him happier now and remarried! I love weddings!
On Saturday, I got to see my sweet cousin, Avery, and my cousins and aunt and uncle! It was great to get to hold Avery and catch up with the fam! :) Below are some pictures from Saturday!
Also, Sunday was Avery's dedication and it was such an honor to be there to get to pledge that I would do my part to show Jesus to sweet Avery Jean! How will a child learn about the Gospel if they are never shown? Hope you enjoy the precious pictures! :)

Sweet Avery and her mom!
I could sit and hold her for hours!!!! Oh wait, I did! :)
Is there anything cuter than a sleeping baby??
AJ is huge!!! She has grown so much in the last three months! (Oh, she will be 3 months tomorrow! Where does the time go?)
Such great expressions!
Look at her beautiful hair!
Here is my amazing, Aunt Debbie holding her first grandchild on Sunday at lunch!

All the fun made AJ sleepy!

Cute dress! Pretty in Pink! :)

Oh!

Not so sure!

Grandmomma holding Avery (Grandmomma is my Dad's mom and Avery's great-grandma!!)
Catching a cat nap!
Smiling!

Here is just a picture from a couple of weeks ago! Gotta love the sunglasses! :) I keep telling Avery that we are going to have so much shopping and accessories are my expertise! Needless to say, this girl is going to have many pairs of shoes, sunglasses, lots of jewerly and purses!!!!

Here is the verse the Pastor gave for Avery on Sunday:

"The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them."

Numbers 6:24-27

Cake for Pastor

This past week I made a cake for our Pastor for his birthday! Recently, I have gotten into decorating cakes and really enjoyed doing so! I still need to practice a lot but I am having fun learning! :)

Our Pastor likes baseball so the cake says "Happy Birthday to our MVP- 'Most Valuable Pastor!'"
From the side

Here is our Pastor holding his cake!

My Life

Here is some pictures from the last few weeks....months..... :)

This is my dear friend, Emily! She is so precious and I love her so much! In Febraury, I drove to College Station one weekend for her baby shower! :)

Beth and I at the Alamo in March on a Spring Break Youth Trip! (One of Beth's last trips in the youth group and I tagged along as a counselor!)

Me and Oprah at the Wax Museum (she is atleast 50 pounds thinner here)!

Sawyer and I at the Alamo! Love this handsome kid!!

UMHB's mascot! (The Crusaders) and the Dr. Pepper stand

The Revival Tent!!!!

Every year UMHB has a Revival on campus for three nights! It is an extraordinary events and probably one of my favorites on campus the entire year (tied with Missions Emphasis Week in the fall)! This year was an amazing experience and I got the privledge of being apart of the Steering Committee. This committee helps plan and prepare for Revival! It blessed my heart so much!

"Love Changed It All" was the theme for Revival 2009 at UMHB! I personally love this theme because Christ's love changes us. We are never the same once we encounter Jesus. His love shoud daily change us.

The chairs for Revival from the stage. Over 1,000 chairs were under the tent!!!

The UMHB chapel!

In early April, we (mom, dad, Beth, me, Grandmomma and Graddaddy--my dad's parents) drove to Austin for my cousin, Devin's baby shower! It was a great day! Here she is with Beth and I enjoying some cake! Less than a month and her baby girl was here!

Easter 2009
What a great day rejoicing in our Risen Savior! :)

Same pose, but this is Mother's Day 2009!
This precious little thing is Hosanna Esther! She is my friend, Emily's little girl! In June, I drove to College Station to meet this little one! She is even cuter in person!

Here is me holding her! :)

This is Avery Jean (my cousin Devin's baby girl) at about 6 weeks old! Dad, me, Grandmomma and Granddaddy went to see Avery and her parents in June.

This is Avery at 2 months. Can you say precious?

Me holding Avery! Love this girl and know that God can do extraordinary, amazing things in her life! :)

Whew! A LOT has been going on! And this isn't even half of the events and pictures from this summer! Enjoying life, growing in Jesus and learning more about His love daily!

Hope all is well!
Much love!
