Things I Have Knitted! Part 1

So I didn't learn to knit until I moved to college and I really enjoy doing so but I rarely find the time to do so now! :) This is a project I worked on for awhile! It is for the beautiful, Avery Jean!

It matches the nursery colors!
Here is another beautiful picture of Avery, with her Mimi holding her!

They always look so warm all swaddled up!

When I knit something for others, I always enjoy thinking about them and praying for them. So when I am finished, I can say it is knitted with love and prayers.
Avery Jean, you have definitely been knitted together by an awesome and amazing Father. I just had the privilege of praying for you!

27 years later...yesterday

Yesterday, April 28th is usually a hard day for my family. It is the anniversary of when my great grandfather passed away. He was a man who loved the Lord and it showed. I never had the privledge of meeting him on this earth but one day I know I will meet him. Right after, I see Jesus! That is a day that I am looking forward to and know it is going to be wonderful!
Yesterday at 7:55 pm, Avery Jean was born into this world weighing 7 pounds 1 ounce and 20 1/2 inches long. What a perfect gift from the Lord!!!!

How beautiful is she?

I got to hold and see her today! I could have held her all day!! Such a perfect little girl!

Here is my great grandparents who are both singing with Jesus now and I know they are proud! What a beautiful legacy with they given their children, grand children, great grandchildren, and NOW they would be great great grandparents!

Lord Jesus, may Avery be used for Your glory and may You touch her life in such a powerful and mighty way! To God be the glory!

One proud cousin!

4-27-09

Today is a day of remembrance and thanksgiving for me. Some know that four years ago tonight I was in a car accident that resulted in a fractured back and a long time of recovery. Looking back it makes me think how fast time flys and how time doesn't stop. To me, it is weird to see how far the Lord has brought me from that day. I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was already a tearful day because I went to a funeral for a very sweet lady who died of cancer. She a has a daughter a couple years older than I am. I have never been more grateful for my mom.

Looking back, I often ask myself would I change that day? My answer is probably not. Not that I would ever want to go through it again....and so many people's situations are far worse than mine...what the Lord has brought out of it and taught me has been incredible. He has taught me that He is more than enough in any situation and any struggle. He is enough! No matter what....

I am a much stronger person and have a deeper relationship with my Savior. I have reason to rejoice and praise the name of Jesus! My life is He....He is the one who gives and takes away!

My souls sings to praise this Jesus! Oh how I love Him! :)

"For Such a Time is This"

Last week, a friend of mine had a beautiful little girl and named her, Hosanna Esther. This made me want to reread the book of Esther. It is one of my favorite books in the Bible because it vividly shows God working and never even mentions His name! Also, Esther has the courage and strength all of us should want to have. Last night, I was reading chapter 4 and this is where Esther agrees to help the Jews and is talking to her uncle, Mordecai (now, I know we all are jumping to name our sons this :)). They are discussing that the Jews will perish if something is not done. Mordecai states that “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”(verse 4:14b) Esther replies to Mordecai to have all of the Jews fast for three days and then she will go before the king even though it is against the law. Her last statement is “and if I perish, I perish” (4:16)

Whoa, strong words! She was willing to risk her life to save her people. And the time was now because they didn’t know how long they would have. I wonder if we were given just an ounce of that courage how far would it take us? What would we be willing to do? Where would we be willing to go? How much would we risk?

You see, Esther really risked everything. She didn’t know what the king was going to do. Just like we don’t know what tomorrow holds. BUT we know a God that does! Don’t you think it is worth the risk to be bold? Now it is not sugar plums and candy drops, but isn’t the joy of the Father always going to be much sweeter!?!

We are in a battle and we don’t know when the White Flag will been thrown, meaning we don’t know when Jesus is going to return, but we know He will and millions don’t know His name. I should say, “Now is the time!”

As my heart was convicted last night, here are some words from the Spirit:

Now is the time to do great things!
There isn’t time to waste
Jesus is coming back real soon
There isn’t time to waste
Millions need to know His name!
There isn’t time to waste
All around the world people wait to hear
There isn’t time to waste
The story that will change everything
There isn’t time to waste
Of how His love changed it ALL!
There isn’t time to waste
The Message is powerful and urgent
There isn’t time to waste
It penetrates hearts and makes man fall to their knees
There isn’t time to waste
Oh love, so magnificent and rich!
There isn’t time to waste
Time is precious, the Message is overwhelming, and response is needed
There isn’t time to waste
Now is the time to live out the Gospel
There isn’t time to waste
We never know which day will be our last.
There isn’t time to waste
Oh God, let us be sensitive to Your calling and daily remind us…
There isn’t time to waste!

Satisfaction

Part of the human race is to seek satification in what we do and glory for what we accomplish. The truth is the our satisfaction can never be found in another human. We fail each other. We forget, we lie, we cheat to get ahead and we just don't care about each other. Harsh as these words sound, it is the truth.

I am a big fan of truth and always deal better with it. And the truth is my satisfaction can only be found in a perfect and honest heavenly Father. He never fails and is always satisfying.

I am learning more to be satisfied in Him. My heart longs to match His heart.

Is this easy? Nope. Is it work? Yep. It is! Is He worth it? You bet.

Oh sweet Jesus, tune my heart to Yours and fulfill me because You are the only One who can!

Just some thoughts.
