His Day

Sunday... This morning at church the main subject was forgiveness taken from Matthew 18: 22.

This is the passage where Peter asks Jesus how often that he should forgive his brothers? Peter suggested 7 times and thought that would be enough. Jesus in turn tells him to forgive 70 x 7. 490 times...is that enough?

Forgiveness makes us look like our Father. When we forgive we look like Jesus.

"A forgiven person is a forgiving person."

We are FORGIVEN by the Blood of the Lamb...nothing else could be greater! We are given a gift from the Father that is priceless, now in turn we should give it to others.

Birthday Fun!

Today is my friend Kathy's birthday! I met Kathy (as well as most of my great friends) at UMHB my freshman year! We all lived on the same side of the hall and have been close ever since! So this week I made her a cake and decorated it for her birthday! On Thursday night, we all went to dinner together to celebrate and came to my apartment after for cake! Here is some pictures of my cake decorating experience! :)

Welcome Week 2009

Last week was UMHB's Welcome Week, which is their freshman orienation to kick off each fall semester! UMHB assigns current students to be moms, dads, aunts and uncles to the incoming freshman! I was a mom this year and had such a great time! This is my family below and we had such a fun time getting to hang out all week! On the last night of Welcome Week, UMHB does a dubbing ceremony. It is a special event that dubs incoming freshman offical Crusaders forever!!! It is such a fun event and kinda like welcome to the family! :) Here is pictures from that night!

Something Sweet

So last week before Welcome Week {this is UMHB's freshman orientation...which I helped with} I decided to try my great Grandma Hazel's coffee cake recipe and it is FABULOUS!!! :) This was my first time to cook in my apartment! :)

So very good! I put some in Bethany's room {my sister} for her first day moving in! Here is my adventure in pictures! :)

First Day of School

Well today was the first day of class for me! I had to classes today and everything went great...just a lot of stuff to do before December! I did have my roommate take my picture because this is my last first day of school {for the fall} as a student. {Next fall, I will be student teaching and not taking actual classes.}

Here is the UMHB charter sign...UMHB is the oldest University in Texas and chartered by the Republic of Texas in 1845. We have A LOT of history! :)

A Sneak Peek

WHEW!! The last few days have been a whirl wind! :) We got home safe and sound Friday night from Florida. It was so hard to leave this year! :) I think I could spend atleast a month a summer at the beach and be just fine! :)

Sunday (yesterday) I moved into my new apartment and I LOVE it! I am still unpacking and decorating but eventually I will post pictures! (soon!)

Here is a sneak peak at a couple of things...

Here is the Welcome mat my Mom brought me! I love these colors and it is so nice to see every time I climb the stairs to my apartment! :)

Moving is A LOT of work! I am tired just thinking about it! ha!

I love the color purple and bought some new stuff for my kitchen! I think almost everything in the dishwasher this time was purple! What a pretty site! :)

This apartment is truely a gift from the Lord and I am so blessed! So many have so much less than I do! But stuff doesn't matter...stuff is stuff. When it all fades away, there is one thing that is important and that is Jesus. I don't want to be define by what I have but Who I know. I have much but I am rich because I know the One who paid it all!

Moving, Moving, Moving!/ 50th Blog Post!!! :)

First of all, this is my 50th blog post! :) That is kinda of exciting...I think of this blog as a scrapbook so I guess I have done lots of pages!! HA!

Today, I am moving into my new apartment back at UMHB! :)

I am very excited but kinda sad that the summer is drawing to a close! I am looking forward to this semester and what the Lord is going to do!!! Exciting days are ahead!

Summer Job

For the last two summers, I have watched Kolby, he is my former youth pastor's son, so I have known him since he was born! On my last day to watch him this summer we made cupcakes! The cupcakes were to celebrate his new little brother/sister that is due in December! :)

We had fun baking and decorating them! :)
