Engage Eleven

"Engage Eleven" is the theme for my home church this year! The idea is to engage yourself with people and use the opportunities the Lord gives you to bless others. So "ENGAGE" yourself with people all around you and into the world.

I am very excited about this year and theme. I LOVE the idea that this theme is based on Acts 1:8. This is where Jesus commands His disciples to go into Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and unto the utter most parts of the world! (VERY practical and EVERY Believer can apply this verse!!!)

Here is a cake I decroated for a luncheon at my church with the theme logo on the cake!

It was delicious if I do say so myself!
(AND no I don't make cakes often and really do practice the all things in moderation!!!)

Another snow day in Texas! Suppose to SNOW MORE tomorrow!

Happy February!!!

Well, February has brought ice, snow and COLD temps to Texas!!! This is day two of school being cancelled (in almost all of North Texas) and tomorrow will be day three! Crazy huh!? We are suppose to have a record low tonight around 10 degrees! Apparently, this is the coldest it has been here in fifteen years! WOW!

This is proof why I am a teacher....

I go into a teacher store and leave with all kinds of goodies for my classroom!!!! I can't wait to have a classroom to put these in! (Praying that day will be SOON!!!!!!!!!)

Verse for 2011!

I got my new blog header up! What do you think? I like the change...change can be good!!!

Over the last couple of years, I have "claimed" a verse(s) to be what I want the year to be about!

Last year, (2010) the verse I choose was based from the passage of Matthew 17 where Jesus is talking about believers and unbelievers. For 2010, I claimed specially the end of verse 20 that says, " and nothing shall be impossible unto you!" I feel like that became my theme for last year...in anything that I did whether it was school, weight loss, summer jobs, student teaching...the list could go on and on! I still believe those words with all my heart and maybe even more after the year I had last year!

So, for 2011...I really prayed about and thought of a verse that would sum up the season of my life I am currently in and also be fitting for this coming year! (AND by the way, how is it almost February?!?! )

I decided on Zephaniah 3:17 :

"The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy: he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing!"

Don't you just love this? I have loved reading these words almost daily so far this year! I like that this verse isn't one that people always refer to and it is tucked so neatly into the Old Testament!

This is going to be a great year and change is definitely in the air~ I can feel it!

Hello 200!

Hey faithful friends and family!

I don't know really if anyone really ever reads my blog, but I have missed writing! What a crazy and wild ride it has been since I last posted!!!! WOW! I know I ALWAYS say this but time has just flown by! (By the way, this is my 200th blog post! Just crazy!)

How is it January??

Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures soon and update more of what has gone on the last few months! I am working on a new blog header and hope to have it up later this week!

2010 was definately a wonderful and exciting year!!! The Lord has been so gracious and I cannot speak more of His great goodness!!!!

Hello, My name is Briana.....

AND I am still breathing! I cannot believe we are already into the month of October! WHERE HAS TIME GONE!?!?! I am currently in a crazy season of life right now!

Many of you know that I am almost finished with my Education degree and right now student teaching (aka you work your tail off for free)! I can officially say that I am half way done with this! In 9 weeks, I will be officially finished with my degree and a college graduate!

This crazy season has made life really complicated and hard to get anything done! I have tons of pictures and things to post about what has been going on. I decided to take a break and focus on other things, but I am back now and ready to play catch up! :)

If you have read my blog at all or know me, you know that I have lost quite a bit of weight this year! To God be the glory! He is the only way I can/could do this! (Nothing shall be impossible unto Him!!!) I feel like I have been a rut lately and just can't seem to budge! BUT tonight I was looking back at pictures from one year ago and pictures from tonight.....

Crazy huh? I have made progress even if I don't feel it everyday! This is motivating me to finish what I started and live like I am suppose to!

The BIG 5-OH!

In spirit of recapping, I thought I would put together two major things that happened recently involving the number 50! On June 23rd, we celebrated my dad's birthday! :)

It was during the week and all of us were working and it was a Wednesday night so we had church too, but we celebrated a few days later too!

The same week I also officially hit a total of 50 pounds lost since the beginning of the year!!!! It has been a long process and journey, but with God ALL things are possible! I give Him all the glory because without Him I could not have done this!
