***The biggest thing over the last few months is a have registered for and been training to run my very first half marathon with my friend Stefanie! The race (13.1 miles) is this Saturday! It has been a long 12 weeks of training! I am excited and nervous!!! (and yesterday I went to the doctor and I currently have strep throat! Praying for a fast recovery so I can run well Saturday!!!)

Super Bowl Day 2011

Yesterday, was crazy in Texas as the XLV Super Bowl was hosted in Arlington! During the afternoon, a group from our church went to hand out "I am Second" track around the stadium. It was interesting and our group passed out quite a few! This website has several famous people sharing their testimony and is pretty neat to see!

Alas, the big game is over and the winner can brag, but in the end it is just a game.

Snow Days 2011

So, for the last 653 days we have been inside due to ice, freezing temperatures and then yesterday snow!!! Not really, it was only 4 days but felt like many, many more than that!!!! The snow was very pretty! We got about 4 to 5 inches which in Texas equals TONS!!!

Snow Ice Cream!!!! Definitely the best part! I had never made it before but it was delicious! :)

Today, Day #5 of the ARTIC Blast of 2011 finally the temperatures warmed up more than they expected and it was great! Snow is now a thing of the past here....well that is until next week when it is suppose to snow again! haha! Gotta love Texas!

New Favorite Food Finds!

Hey!

So for fun today I thought I would share some of my newer favorite food finds! I continually seek to find healthy food options to give variety to what I eat and totally recommend all of these! I am following Weight Watchers NEW Points Plus Program and loving it! The change has been great!

Okay, this stuff is wonderful!!!! AND very addicting! It is great on a banana or in oatmeal!

(And no that is not my hand)

(Points + 3 for 1 TBSP and 5 for 2 TBSP)

Absolutely LOVE this stuff!!!

(Points + 2 per slice)

Ok, wasn't sure about Almond Milk but verdict: good stuff! I bought the sugar free and added sweet n low to it! It is a Points Plus bargain! only 1 for 8 ozs! Drink UP!

Oh my! This is probably my new favorite breakfast with some fruit!

(3 Pts + for 3 TBSP)

All the Whey! Protein powders can be iffy but I bought this brand in chocolate (of course!) and really like it in my fruit shakes! It has 16 grams of protein per scoop and 2 pt +.

Hope you find this helpful! I think the worst thing sometimes in being in a food rut!

Engage Eleven

"Engage Eleven" is the theme for my home church this year! The idea is to engage yourself with people and use the opportunities the Lord gives you to bless others. So "ENGAGE" yourself with people all around you and into the world.

I am very excited about this year and theme. I LOVE the idea that this theme is based on Acts 1:8. This is where Jesus commands His disciples to go into Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and unto the utter most parts of the world! (VERY practical and EVERY Believer can apply this verse!!!)

Here is a cake I decroated for a luncheon at my church with the theme logo on the cake!

It was delicious if I do say so myself!
(AND no I don't make cakes often and really do practice the all things in moderation!!!)

Another snow day in Texas! Suppose to SNOW MORE tomorrow!

Happy February!!!

Well, February has brought ice, snow and COLD temps to Texas!!! This is day two of school being cancelled (in almost all of North Texas) and tomorrow will be day three! Crazy huh!? We are suppose to have a record low tonight around 10 degrees! Apparently, this is the coldest it has been here in fifteen years! WOW!
